Sampdoria's Samuel Eto'o to buy 'haunted mansion' in Italy

Sampdoria striker Samuel Eto'o is reportedly close to moving into a mansion in Italy that is rumoured to be cursed.

Samuel Eto'o is reportedly close to purchasing a mansion in Northern Italy which is rumoured to be haunted.

The former Chelsea and Everton striker is believed to be house-hunting in the country after sealing a free transfer to Sampdoria last month.

According to the Daily Star, Eto'o is expected to move into an £18.5m property, which locals claim is haunted by a curse following the death of archaeologist Lord Carnarvon.

The Brit is said to have been part of an archaeology team who uncovered the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun in 1922 and after Lord Carnarvon died of an infected mosquito bite, myth spread that he had been cursed by the Pharaoh.

Despite various accidents happening to a number of residents of the mansion over the years, Eto'o is reportedly still happy to move in.
