Chris Chester "desperately disappointed" after Wigan Warriors comeback

Hull KR caretaker coach Chris Chester says that he is "desperately disappointed" with how his side spurned a 10-point lead in Thursday's 14-14 draw with Wigan Warriors.

Chris Chester has said that he is "desperately disappointed" after his Hull Kingston Rovers side surrendered a 10-point lead in the final eight minutes against Wigan Warriors.

Two late tries from Sean O'Loughlin and Josh Charnley - who touched down on 80 minutes - saw Wigan stage an unlikely comeback to rescue a 14-14 draw with Hull at Craven Park on Thursday night.

The result saw Chester's side fail to close the gap on Widnes Vikings in the eighth and final playoff spot, and the caretaker coach has rued his team's performance in the final minute.

"I thought we were the better team for 79 minutes," he told Sky Sports News.

"We just switched off for that final minute. I'm desperately disappointed. We should have won that game."

Next up for Chester and co is the short trip to local rivals Hull FC on August 29.
