Both sides struggled to make much headway on offence in the first half, with Adam Vinatieri converting 38-yard and 34-yard field goals respectively to give his side a six-point lead.
Justin Tucker halved that deficit as time expired in the second quarter, but the Colts soon moved into a more comfortable lead with the first touchdown of the match.
Andrew Luck had plenty of time in the pocket to pick out his target, and it was Dwayne Allen who collected the six-yard pass at the front of the endzone.
Tucker kicked his second field goal of the match at the start of the fourth quarter as the Ravens looked to claw their way back into the match, making light work of the 27-yard effort.
Luck looked to have secured the win for his side when he went alone to race into the endzone for a 13-yard score, but the Ravens hit back almost immediately to keep themselves in the match.
Justin Forsett burst straight through the middle of the Colts defence for an 11-yard touchdown, making it a seven-point game midway through the fourth quarter.
The Colts held out for the victory, however, keeping Baltimore at bay in the closing stages to move 3-2 for the season.
