Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy has revealed that he would prefer to stay with the club next season but has admitted that he is open to a move to another NFL team.
Hardy is out of contract at the end of the league year and will demand a lucrative deal to stay with the Panthers after his 15-sack 2013 season, as he helped guide his side to the number two seed in the NFC playoffs.
"It's a waiting process. They've got to get the budget right," Hardy told the Charlotte Observer. "It's a reality of football.
"It's a reality of business. They've got the ball in their court right now. If that's what they choose to do, nothing but respect and love. Carolina's my home. But I've got to go back to work. I'd rather be here if I can. But if not, it's just business."
The 25-year-old has been with the Panthers since he was selected by the club in the sixth round of the 2010 Draft.
