Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery has revealed that his side are targeting no fewer than six players in the first round of next week's 2014 Draft, although none is a quarterback.
Emery said that the goal will be to secure two of their six preferred choices, with any more than that ensuring an excellent day at the office for the Bears.
"Every day we keep narrowing it in terms of defining who that group is," Emery told the club's official website. "I would say for that first pick, we're right at six.
"I'd be happy if two out of the six were on the board at our pick and I'd be ecstatic if three out of the six were on the board at our pick. I would find it surprising if the Chicago Bears were to draft a quarterback in the first round."
Emery has been Bears GM since 2012.
