Rob Chudzinski has confirmed that Brandon Weeden will retain the role of starting quarterback with the Cleveland Browns for a second season.
The 29-year-old won the job during pre-season last year, but was told that he would be facing competition from the other quarterbacks on the team's roster ahead of the coming season.
The head coach told reporters: "Brandon has earned this job. He's gained my complete trust.
"I've always believed in guys earning things, and he's earned it, he's responded very well."
Weeden has recorded 229 passing yards from 18 completions during the Browns' two pre-season games.
