New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has admitted that he and his teammates were heartbroken by their defeat to the Detroit Lions.
Sean Payton's side led 23-10 in the fourth quarter, but a 73-yard touchdown from Golden Tate brought the Lions back into the match.
Drew Brees then made a costly error as he threw an interception, and that allowed Matt Stafford to find Corey Fuller for the go-ahead score to win the game for the home side.
"We know we have to finish games, and that's something we will work on this week," Jordan told reporters. "When you lose close games like that, it's heartbreaking.
"When you dominate for three quarters and you end up letting off in the last couple minutes, it completely changes the game. It definitely hurts, and this is a tough game to swallow."
The Saints dropped to 2-4 in their season following their week seven defeat.
