Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has claimed that he is "the greatest" after becoming the first man since Carl Lewis to retain the Olympic 100m title.
Bolt blitzed the fastest ever 100m final, which contained the four fastest men of all time, breaking his own Olympic record in the process.
Bolt's training partner and friend Yohan Blake had been many people's favourite to usurp Bolt as the world's fastest man, but the world record holder believes that he has now proved he is the greatest.
"You guys doubted me and I've shown the world that I am the greatest," he said.
"This is what I do. It's fun for them and I enjoy giving them the show. 'On your marks' is when the focus starts.
"It was one of the best races of all-time. I think the only reason it wasn't better is Asafa (Powell) got hurt. Otherwise everyone would have been under 10 seconds."
Bolt's success brings with it his fourth Olympic gold medal, a tally he will be looking to increase when he takes part in the 200m and 4x100m finals later this week.
