A man has been charged with a public order offence after throwing a bottle seconds before Jamaica's Usain Bolt strode to victory in the men's 100m final last night.
The 34-year-old man was arrested by police following the incident, which did not disrupt Bolt's gold-medal win, secured in 9.63 seconds.
Metropolitan police have confirmed that the man will be faced with a public order offence charge following the incident, which was caught on camera before the starter pistol was fired.
Meanwhile, Bolt is expected to receive his gold medal tonight, with his compatriot Yohan Blake getting silver and the USA's Justin Gatlin snatching bronze.
