Dina Asher-Smith excited ahead of Anniversary Games

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith admits that she can't wait to make her first appearance in the Olympic Stadium at this weekend's Anniversary Games in London.

Dina Asher-Smith has revealed her excitement ahead of her debut in London's Olympic Stadium at the Anniversary Games this weekend.

Earlier this year, the sprinter hit the headlines when breaking the women's British 100m record, but despite the expectation on her shoulders, she has insisted that she remains undaunted ahead of her first appearance at the setting of London 2012.

The 19-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I was fortunate enough to be a box carrier [at the Olympics in 2012] and I did it on Super Saturday so saw Jessica Ennis-Hill, Greg Rutherford and Mo Farah do absolutely amazing. It really did inspire me to see how much people want British athletes to do well.

"It's not daunting at all, it's a unique opportunity for us British athletes to utilise the atmosphere that the stadium provides. It's not often you get to run there and I hope it will be absolutely packed."

On Friday, Asher-Smith will feature in the 4x100m relay, before returning to the track on Saturday to take part in the 100m.
