Golden State Warriors impress Gregg Popovich

Gregg Popovich claims that the Golden State Warriors are on the "right path" to becoming one of the top teams in the NBA.

Gregg Popovich has claimed that the Golden State Warriors are on the "right path" in the NBA this season.

The San Antonio Spurs head coach saw his side defeat the Warriors on Friday night, but he believes that Mark Jackson's team will continue to be competitive with the top teams in the league.

"They're really good offensively, obviously they're very talented," Popovich told reporters. "They've got an inside and outside game, and they're really capable of scoring. If that was just it, then you'd call them a dangerous team where on any given night they can do you in.

"But they're beyond that, because Mark) has done a hell of a job in giving them a mentality, an aggressive, physical mentality defensively.

"Now it's just a matter of being persistent and consistent about that, and reducing mistakes and understanding that it's a long season. They're definitely on the right path."

The Warriors have won four and lost three of their games this season.
