Badou Jack open to James DeGale unification bout

Badou Jack expresses an interest in a unification bout with James DeGale in 2016.

Badou Jack has said that he is open to travelling to Great Britain to take on IBF champion James DeGale in a unification clash.

The WBC world super-middleweight champion, who is 20-1-1 in his career, is eyeing an encounter with the Londoner next year to relieve him of the title he won against Andre Dirrell in May.

"It's going to happen next year, for sure. I'd prefer to fight DeGale to Julio Chavez Jr because he's got the belt. I think he's a better fighter than Chavez Jr," the Swede told behindthegloves.com.

"If the money's right, why not [travel to Britain]? Right now we're focused on Las Vegas and doing it here in America. We can start with Chavez Jr but I heard he's not ready yet. We'll see.

"He's a very tough guy who comes to fight but DeGale is a better fighter. I'm training now and I should be back in the ring around February. I'm waiting for Floyd [Mayweather] to tell me who I'm fighting."

DeGale, 29, successfully defended his title against Lucian Bute by a unanimous points decision last month, bringing his record to 22 wins and one defeat.
