England produce a dismal batting display as they suffer a nine-wicket defeat to West Indies in the first T20 international in Bridgetown.

England have recorded their fourth-lowest T20 international score on the way to a nine-wicket defeat to West Indies on Saturday.

On the back a dismal Ashes campaign, a much-changed team had been hoping to bring some joy to England supporters with an improved performance in Bridgetown.

However, Eoin Morgan's team were abysmal with the bat, slumping to 10-3, 29-5 and 49-7 before they were eventually dismissed for 103 with two balls to spare.

Only Chris Jordan (28) and Adil Rashid (22) came out of the innings with any credit, while Jason Holder (4-7) was the pick of the West Indies bowlers.

The hosts were able to cruise to their target with 17 balls to spare, the opening stand being ended when Shai Hope (20) was stumped off the bowling of Rashid.

Brandon King ended unbeaten on 52 after 49 balls, with Nicholas Pooran providing the support at the end with a comfortable 27 off 29 deliveries.
