Kevin Pietersen claims that his knock of 130 against Pakistan was the best of his career.

Kevin Pietersen has hailed his century against Pakistan on Tuesday as his greatest ever one-day innings.

The charismatic batsman racked up a score of 130 as England chased down their target of 238 in the last over to complete a 4-0 series whitewash.

"It's probably the best knock I've ever played in one-day cricket. The calmness of the chase, not getting flustered, I enjoyed it," he said.

"One-day hundreds are hard to get. We picked our bowlers that we wanted to target - which we don't normally do in the England team."

Pietersen's recent form had been criticised but he has now posted back-to-back centuries, including an unbeaten 111 in England's nine-wicket win in Dubai on Saturday.

"I've always said that when I'm not playing well I'll get criticised, but that's the nature of the beast. I'll never stop working hard. I'll never stop trying. I just want to enjoy my cricket," he added.

The 31-year-old has made 128 one-day appearances for England since debuting in 2004.
