Steven Finn a doubt for fourth Test

England coach Trevor Bayliss reveals that Steven Finn is unlikely to feature in the final Test with South Africa after suffering a side injury.

Steven Finn is unlikely to play a part in the fourth Test between South Africa and England after picking up a side injury.

The tourists clinched the series after Stuart Broad's heroics in Johannesburg helped them to victory in the third Test by seven wickets on Saturday, putting their lead at an unassailable 2-0.

Finn required scans for a problem that flared up on Friday morning and is now a doubt for the final match of the series and the ensuing ODI matches.

"I'd be surprised if he plays in the next Test and possibly the one-day series," England coach Trevor Bayliss told reporters.

"It's a shame because I've been really impressed with his bowling here. He was getting the ball through well and was difficult to play."

Finn's absence could provide an opportunity for Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan or the uncapped Mark Footitt in Bayliss's side.
