Joe Root has heaped praise on his Yorkshire teammates following their four-wicket over Durham yesterday afternoon.
The England youngster produced a knock of 182 as the visitors reached their victory target of 336 runs, which was the fourth highest successful run chase in their history.
However, rather than reflect on his own contribution, the 22-year-old opted instead to hail a "great team effort".
"To contribute in my first game back is really pleasing, and to get a win on the board early in the season is fantastic for the county," Root told the county's official website.
"We got a couple of really good partnerships in today, and the lads who were in felt really good at the crease. Hopefully we can take that into next week against Derbyshire.
"It was really pleasing to get some points on the board for Yorkshire. It was a great team effort."
Root has been tipped to be part of the England squad for this summer's Test series against New Zealand and Australia.
