Sri Lanka have triumphed over Pakistan to reach the final of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.
The hosts posted 139 from their innings after deciding to bat. Mahela Jayawardene top scored with 42 from 26 balls.
Imran Nazir was the first wicket to fall for Pakistan, as he was bowled by Ajantha Mendis for 20. However, Mohammad Hafeez was still at the crease and looking dangerous.
Nasir Jamshed and Kamran Akmal were removed in quick succession as Pakistan struggled on 57-3. Rangana Herath then bowled Shoaib Malik and the home crowd could almost taste victory.
Umar Akmal came in at number six and steadied the ship, but watched on as Kumar Sangakkara stumped Hafeez, dismissing him for 42.
Shahid Afridi followed him down the tunnel for a golden duck. Pakistan looked ready for a charge as the overs ran out, but Mendis struck once more to remove Sohail Tanvir.
Umar Gul now partnered Akmal in the middle. Pakistan required 23 from the final over.
Nuwan Kulasekara bowled superbly to restrict the visitors to just seven runs and book Sri Lanka's spot in the final.
