Manchester United are reportedly ready to push for the signing of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap during this summer's transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for Ipswich during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring nine times and registering two assists in 23 Premier League appearances.
Delap has a contract at Portman Road until June 2029, having penned a five-year deal upon his arrival from Manchester City last summer, but he will almost certainly leave if Ipswich are relegated from the Premier League this term.
Even if the Blues are able to stay in the top flight, then it is difficult to imagine Delap spending another season at Portman Road considering the list of clubs believed to be interested in his services.
Man City have a buy-back option worth £29.5m, while Chelsea are also believed to be exploring a summer transfer.
According to The Express, Man United's transfer committee met towards the end of January to discuss centre-forwards, and Delap was identified as a prime target.

Man United 'planning summer move' for Delap
Man United's CEO Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox are familiar with Delap following their time at Man City, and the duo are believed to be in favour of a summer move for the Englishman.
However, Man City could trump their rivals this summer and then potentially look to sell him at a higher price.
Delap was at Derby County between 2009 and 2019 before making the move to Man City, but he only featured six times for the Citizens, spending time out on loan with Stoke City, Preston North End and Hull City, before moving to Ipswich last summer.
The forward has demonstrated that he can perform in the Premier League, with his nine goals this term even more impressive considering that Ipswich are down in 19th spot in England's top flight
