Great Britain's Paralympic cyclist Jon-Allan Butterworth has secured a silver medal for the host nation on a dramatic C4-5 time trial at the velodrome.
The Brit, who lost his left arm serving in Iraq for the RAF, couldn't break the new world record, which was set by Spain's Alfonso Cabello just before him.
Butterworth recorded a time of 1:05.985, which was enough to cement second place after his compatriot Jody Cundy was disqualified following a false start, which Cundy furiously blamed on the machine when he was released from the blocks.
Cabello nabbed the top honour while China's Liu Xinyang snatched the bronze medal after 22 riders took to the velodrome.
