Tom Daley has picked up a silver medal in the men's 10m platform at the World Diving Series in Dubai.
The 20-year-old put in five 90-plus dives, including a 103.60 for his forward 4-1/2, to take second place on the podium behind China's Qiu Bo. Daley had failed to progress past the prelim stage at the opening meet in Beijing last week after struggling with the new dive in his routine, a complicated 3-1/2 somersault with 1 twist, but delivered an encouraging 93.60 for today's effort.
Third place went to China's Yang Jian, who last week equalled his own world record score for a single dive with a 123.00 for his forward 4-1/2.
