Italy have won gold in the men's team foil final, beating Japan to claim the title.
Japan began strongly, winning the first bout 5-3. However, they didn't win another until round six, with two losses and two draws in between.
This gave the Italians a narrow 30-29 lead, before two consecutive wins brought the score to 40-37 ahead of the final bout between Japan's Yuki Ota and Italy's Andrea Baldini.
Baldini secured the gold medal for his team with a 5-2 success, giving Italy a 45-39 win overall. Earlier in the day, Germany had beaten Team USA to claim the bronze.
The win completes an impressive Games for the Italian fencing team, as their women won the team foil event too.
