Ryan Jack: 'Aberdeen can handle being leaders'

Ryan Jack says that Aberdeen can cope with being leaders of the Scottish Premiership.

Ryan Jack has insisted that Aberdeen can handle being top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Dons have won their first seven matches to open a five-point gap on Celtic, and travel to Hearts this afternoon.

"As players you'd have to notice it, be aware of it. With the start we've had – winning seven games on the bounce – the confidence is high and the boys have been flying," Jack told the Daily Record.

"But we don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves because every game we play, we know that teams will look to try that bit wee extra to beat us, to slap us down a bit.

"A lot of them will be looking at Aberdeen and want to kind of put us in our place. We want to guard against that and I definitely think we can handle that extra edge."

The Aberdeen captain has made 187 appearances for the club after coming through the youth system.
