AC Milan have shortlisted Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez to help solve their goalscoring crisis before the end of the winter transfer window.
Gimenez made headlines on Wednesday, scoring twice in Feyenoord's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League at De Kuip, taking his tally to four in four games on the continent.
Despite suffering from injury troubles this season, the Mexican international has scored 11 times in just nine starts since returning in late November.
Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Milan are keen on signing the striker to bolster an attack that has scored just 29 goals in 20 Serie A matches this season, leaving them down in eighth.
Gimenez moved to Rotterdam from Cruz Azul for just €4m (£3.3m) in 2022, but the club now value him closer to €35-40m (£30-34m), after three goal-laden seasons in the Eredivisie.
Whether Milan are willing to pay as much is yet to be seen, considering they had a €15m (£12.5m) bid rejected for the 23-year-old in the summer.

Dortmund leading the race for Deportivo youngster
Elsewhere on the continent, Borussia Dortmund have reportedly moved ahead in the race for Deportivo La Coruna youngster Yeremay Hernandez.
Often renowned for their eye for young talent, Dortmund are set to move for the Spain Under-21 international, who has enjoyed a sudden rise to the first team over the past 12 months.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that despite interest from Napoli, Dortmund are the front runners for the 22-year-old, who has been a regular in LaLiga2 for Deportivo this season.
Often operating on the left-wing, Hernandez has scored an impressive eight goals already this season, registering a further three assists, in 19 appearances.
Despite the sacking of Nuri Sahin this week, Dortmund appear set to stick to their philosophy of investing in youth, and not making knee-jerk signings in attempts to improve their current league position of 10th in the Bundesliga.

Premier League duo in the hunt for Tanner
Back in the Premier League, relegation-threatened Leicester City and Southampton are believed to be interested in Cardiff City's Ollie Tanner.
A product of Crystal Palace's academy, Tanner moved to Cardiff from Lewes for around £50,000 back in 2022, and has since become a regular with the Bluebirds.
Tanner was one of the key players in Cardiff's recent derby thrashing of Swansea City, and Football Insider claim that Southampton and Leicester, along with title-chasing Leeds United and Burnley, are keeping tabs on the player,
A predominantly left-sided player, Tanner has been used both on the wing and at full-back, and at just 22, he is certainly one for the future.
