Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes reportedly sat out the team's training session this morning amid continued links to a move to Rangers.
The Glasgow club have being trying to secure McInnes's services to fill the void left by Pedro Caixinha's sacking back in October, with McInnes's assistant Tony Docherty expected to be included in any switch.
Rangers made Aberdeen a compensation offer of around £1m last night but the approach was rejected, and McInnes is understood to be holding talks with chairman Stewart Milne today.
While the 46-year-old has tried to play down speculation of a move to Ibrox, he is thought to be keen on the opportunity and multiple sources are reporting that he and Docherty were not involved in the side's preparations ahead of their clash with Dundee.
McInnes has been in his post at Pittodrie since 2013.
