AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that his team must improve defensively to compete against Roma next week.
Milan overcame Pescara 4-1 this afternoon but Allegri was adamant that his side must tighten up if they want to climb the table in the new year.
He told reporters: "In Catania we made our lives difficult with some carelessness defending of a corner.
"Today that happened again and we have to do something about it. Against Roma, we won't be able to afford to concede anything.
"We're doing good things up front, but we can't continue to let in goals on dead ball situations. If Pescara had equalised, everything would have been much more difficult. We have to prepare mentally for Roma, now it gets tough."
The Rossoneri have recovered from a turbulent start to sit seventh in Serie A, six points off a Champions League place.
