Gennaro Gattuso has claimed that he has "returned to an almost normal life" after he was diagnosed with a paralysed optic nerve and blinded in his left eye.
The 34-year-old midfielder has not featured since he sustained the injury by colliding with teammate Alessandro Nesta in the 2-2 draw with Lazio in September.
The former Rangers player returned to training last week and feels that he has something to offer the team again.
"I have been training very hard for a week and at the moment I think I have 20-25 minutes in my legs," said Gattuso.
"I've returned to an almost normal life, as I can now watch television and drive my car again. I only use glasses to shade myself from the sun.
"I was never ashamed of what happened to me and see no reason to. This year everything has happened to both me and Milan, but we are still here."
Gattuso has been at the San Siro since 1999.
