Neal Ardley "proud" despite AFC Wimbledon defeat

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley says that he is proud of his team despite their 3-1 loss to Coventry City in the first round of the FA Cup.

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley has said that he is proud of his players despite their 3-1 loss in the first round of the FA Cup this evening.

The League Two side led Coventry City early in the second half, but goalkeeper Seb Brown, who filled in for the delayed Ross Worner, spilled a cross to allow Callum Wilson to tap in the equaliser.

Ardley told BT Sport: "These things happen in football and I've told the players I'm proud of them.

"I couldn't see them getting back into the game [until Brown's error]. He knows, I don't need to tell him. The momentum changed from there on and it was difficult. Worner arrived on the final whistle, it's a good job Seb didn't get injured."

Carl Baker also scored for the visitors, before Callum Kennedy turned the ball into his own net.
