Tuesday's League One predictions including Wigan vs. Accrington

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Wigan vs. Accrington.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Charlton (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

AFC Wimbledon will look to break the EFL's longest current winless run on Tuesday, when they play host to Charlton Athletic.

The hosts have now failed to win any of their last 21 matches, dropping into the relegation zone in the League One table as a result, while their visitors sit 15th after a recent improvement.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 1-2 Charlton Athletic

AFC Wimbledon showed desire in their trip to Sheffield Wednesday, and they will be desperate to end their poor run to stay in the fight for survival, but we would not be surprised to see them again fall short against a Charlton side with plenty of quality all over the pitch.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Wigan vs. Accrington (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Since this article was published, this game has been called off due to a coronavirus outbreak in the Accrington squad. A new date for the game will be confirmed in due course.

Having been sidelined for a fortnight, Wigan Athletic look to get their League One promotion push back on track when they host mid-table Accrington Stanley on New Year's Day.

While the third-placed home side have not played since beating Oxford United in mid-December, their visitors have picked up two wins and a draw from their last three games.

We say: Wigan Athletic 1-0 Accrington Stanley

While Wigan could be a touch rusty after such an unwanted layoff, they certainly retain the edge in quality over Accrington, who are never the most secure defensively and have problems of their own.

Though they managed to secure a point last time out despite depleted resources and illness sweeping through the camp, the visitors will surely not be able to replicate that showing and will come up short.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Cambridge vs. Wycombe (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Wycombe Wanderers will continue their pursuit of a spot in the top six of the League One table on Tuesday, when they travel to take on Cambridge United.

Gareth Ainsworth's side returned to winning ways against Doncaster Rovers at the weekend, while their hosts have climbed up to 13th spot thanks to consecutive wins.

We say: Cambridge United 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers

Cambridge will certainly be no soft touch, but we expect Wycombe, with the need for a victory in the race for the top six, to scrape over the line on Tuesday.

Ainsworth's side have quality all over the pitch, and we back them to return to Buckinghamshire with all three points after a tight contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Fleetwood vs. Lincoln (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

With both sides looking to bounce back from respective defeats last time out, Fleetwood Town and Lincoln City face off at the Highbury Stadium on Saturday.

The teams are separated by three points and two places in the League One table heading into this weekend's clash, which promises to be an absorbing affair.

We say: Fleetwood Town 1-1 Lincoln City

Both Fleetwood and Lincoln are involved in a battle for survival, so we expect a keenly-contested affair with a lot of goalmouth action. That said, we fancy a share of the spoils with honours even come the sound of the final whistle.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

MK Dons vs. Crewe (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two sides at opposite ends of the League One table will do battle on Tuesday, as MK Dons play host to Crewe Alexandra.

The hosts are pushing to climb into the automatic promotion places after back-to-back wins, while their opponents are rooted to the foot of the division.

We say: MK Dons 2-0 Crewe Alexandra

With more quality in their ranks and momentum on their side, everything points to an MK Dons win on Tuesday.

Manning's men have their sights set on the top two, and they should not be derailed at home to the league's basement side.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Morecambe vs. Oxford Utd (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Morecambe ended a 12-game winless run at the weekend to boost their chances of remaining in League One, and they will now bid to add further impetus to their relegation battle when they play host to Oxford United on Tuesday.

The U's meanwhile are embroiled in their own battle as they fight it out for a top-six place, with Karl Robinson's side one point adrift of the playoffs ahead of Tuesday's contest.

We say: Morecambe 1-2 Oxford United

Morecambe may have ended their winless run on Saturday, but they will be fully aware that Oxford will present a much stiffer test, as the U's bid to clinch a playoff place.

Although Morecambe will be buoyed by their victory over Burton, we think they will struggle to replicate that feat on Tuesday, and we expect Oxford to claim a league double over the Shrimps after winning 3-1 in the reverse fixture.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Bolton vs. Portsmouth (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

Bolton Wanderers and Portsmouth will face off on Tuesday, with both sides currently level on 59 points in the League One table.

The hosts have lost just once in their last five matches, while Pompey have suffered only one defeat in their previous 10 outings.

We say: Bolton Wanderers 0-2 Portsmouth

Cowley's side have had plenty of time to prepare for Tuesday's contest, and with the playoffs still a realistic possibility for the visitors, we think they will have that extra incentive to clinch all three points against Bolton.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
