Rafael Benitez says that Chelsea's match with Tottenham Hotspur next month will be crucial in deciding the outcome of the Champions League spots.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez believes that his side are "in the driving seat" to land a Champions League spot this season.

The Blues moved up to third in the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and are now a point ahead of Arsenal with a game in hand on the Gunners.

However, Benitez admits that their match with Tottenham Hotspur, who currently trail Chelsea by three points, is crucial in deciding the outcome of the teams.

"We are in a good position, but we have to carry on and try to do our job which is win games," Benitez told talkSPORT.

"If you lose and your opponents win, then it will be them in the top four. But we are in the driving seat.

"The match with Tottenham is crucial. Goal difference and points are in our favour at the moment, so we will be confident going into the match."

Chelsea travel to Manchester United next Sunday before hosting Spurs three days later.
