Santi Cazorla praises Arsenal spirit in victory over Liverpool

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla feels that the spirit his side showed across the pitch was crucial in their 4-1 victory over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has expressed his belief that his side's spirit played a huge part in their 4-1 hammering of Liverpool.

The Gunners took a large step towards securing Champions League football next season as Hector Bellerin, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud all got on the scoresheet at the Emirates Stadium in their thumping victory.

Cazorla feels that the teamwork his side displayed at the back to quell the attacking threat the Reds posed played a huge part in their win over Brendan Rodgers's men.

"It's a very important win for us because Liverpool are with us fighting for the Champions League," Cazorla told the club's official website.

"Liverpool have very good players with Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho but the team played very compact and played together, which is very important for us. When we defend together, we always win.

"The confidence is high for everyone and we need to play the same now we have a week of rest, and then we need to prepare for the next game."

Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League, seven points adrift of Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title.
