Arsene Wenger: 'Down to Arsenal to now finish the job'

Arsene Wenger claims that victory for Arsenal over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening will mean a 'job well done', with top spot up for grabs for the winning side.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told his players to pick up the victory required against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night to "finish the job" of coming out on top in Group A.

The two sides are locked on 10 points at the top of the standings, aiming to claim top spot in order to set up what would be a more favourable last-16 tie further down the line.

Arsenal have been eliminated from the competition at the first knockout-stage hurdle in each of the past six campaigns, largely due to their failure to keep the pace in the group stage.

With just one more game to play after tomorrow night - a trip to Basel on December 6 - three points against French giants PSG will be enough for the Gunners to end their recent hoodoo.

"I believe the two teams have done the job until now," Wenger told reporters. "We have done it away from home now we have to finish the job at home. We played a draw there and now it is down to us to win the game.

"We have done the job in a convincing way. It is a luxury to be qualified after four games. If we finish the job after five games that will mean we will have done the job really well."

PSG, who have dropped just two of the last 18 points on offer in Ligue 1, play host to Ludogorets Razgrad in their final group-stage outing in a fortnight's time.
