How Arsenal could line up against Standard Liege

Ahead of Thursday's Europa League game between Arsenal and Standard Liege, Sports Mole looks at how the North Londoners could line up against their Belgian opponents.

Arsenal head into their Europa League fixture with Standard Liege looking to build on the strong start to their Europa League campaign.

Despite facing arguably their toughest game in Group F, the Gunners were able to leave Germany with a 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

That result has given Unai Emery's side the platform to lead this group from start to finish, although the Spaniard is expected to make widespread changes to his team on Thursday night.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how the Premier League outfit could line up against the Belgians at the Emirates Stadium.

With the draw against Manchester United coming just three days before this game, no player who completed 90 minutes on Monday night is expected to start against Liege.

That could result in a first European outing for young Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli, while academy graduates Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson are also in line to feature in the final third.

Mesut Ozil may be named on the left flank, with Lucas Torreira and Dani Ceballos potentially getting the nod in the centre of the pitch.

Despite being ruled out of international duty with Scotland later this month, Kieran Tierney is still expected to start at left-back.

Hector Bellerin may play on the opposite side of the backline having recovered from a serious knee injury, with Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding available to start in the middle.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles should also feature at some stage having played no part of the fixture at Old Trafford.
