Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Rapid Vienna

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their Europa League clash with Rapid Vienna on Thursday evening.

Arsenal will be looking to regain some much-needed confidence when they welcome Rapid Vienna to the Emirates Stadium for Thursday's Europa League showdown.

The Gunners recently lost their third Premier League home game on the bounce as Wolverhampton Wanderers ran out 2-1 winners in North London, with Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence netting either side of a Gabriel Magalhaes header.

However, Mikel Arteta's men have swept aside the competition in the Europa League and have already secured their spot in the round of 32 ahead of Thursday's visit of Vienna.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Europa League showdown with the Austrian side.

David Luiz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Head
Possible return date: Unknown

Wolves' win at the Emirates was overshadowed by a horrific clash of heads between David Luiz and Raul Jimenez, with the latter having to undergo surgery on a fractured skull. Luiz still completed the first half despite concussion fears, a move which was widely criticised, and Arsenal have since confirmed that the defender will not be available for Thursday's game.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Arsenal were initially hopeful that Thomas Partey would be fit to return from a thigh injury in time to play against Wolves, but having already suffered defeat to the West Midlands outfit, Gooners' misery was compounded after the game with the news that Partey's injury is more serious than first thought. Arteta has revealed that the midfielder is likely to miss the next few games, potentially ruling him out until 2021.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel Martinelli is being put through his paces in training and is closing in on a return to action, but the Brazilian attacker is unlikely to take to the pitch before the end of the year.

Calum Chambers

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Rapid Vienna)

Calum Chambers has not played for Arteta's men since January, but the Englishman turned out for the Under-23's in their win over Derby County on Friday, so it is only a matter of time before Chambers returns to first-team action.

Pablo Mari

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Rapid Vienna)

Pablo Mari made his return from injury in the Premier League 2 victory over Derby, with the Spaniard playing 45 minutes before being subbed off. As is the case with Chambers, Mari has an outside chance of being available for Thursday's game, although that will likely be too soon.

Sead Kolasinac

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Rapid Vienna)

While Mohamed Elneny was able to make the bench against Wolves after recovering from coronavirus, Sead Kolasinac was forced to miss out. However, the Bosnian has since tested negative and he is available for the visit of Vienna, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will start.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Nicolas Pepe is currently serving a domestic suspension, but the Gunners have no players banned in the Europa League.
