Brighton boss Gus Poyet admits that his side will need to be at their very best and have luck on their side if they are going to knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup tomorrow.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet has admitted that his side will need luck on their side if they are to beat Arsenal in their FA Cup fourth-round tie tomorrow.

Poyet sent first-team coach Charlie Oatway to the Emirates Stadium to scout the Gunners' midweek match against West Ham United, which ended up as a 5-1 rout in favour of the hosts.

The Uruguayan admits that the odds are against them in their match, but reminded his side that anything can happen in football.

"Charlie went, and he's quite scared," said Poyet. "Apparently they were unbelievable but I'm not surprised. I know the quality they have got and if they have a good day it will be practically impossible. So we need to make sure we do something special ourselves.

"We need luck and we need to be at our very best in every department. We need to put in the best tactical performance. We lost heavily to West Ham last year, and West Ham lost heavily on Wednesday so if you put one plus one it's easy to see the result. But it's a football game, things happen, there can be accidents, a sending-off, a decision from the referee. You need to wait for that."

Brighton currently sit seventh in the Championship table, four points off a playoff place.
