Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffers injury setback

Arsene Wenger reveals that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not return from his hamstring injury this weekend after suffering a small setback in his recovery.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out of Arsenal's trip to West Bromwich Albion tomorrow after suffering a small setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The England international suffered the injury in last month's Capital One Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and has missed the Gunners' last three matches.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed today that the 22-year-old would miss Saturday's trip to The Hawthorns and he is also likely to sit out Tuesday's must-win Champions League tie against Dinamo Zagreb.

Wenger told reporters: "He had a slight little setback on Monday but we checked by scan and there is nothing wrong but he is still a fraction short for Saturday."

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the only goal of Arsenal's first game of the season - the Community Shield win over Chelsea - but has failed to find the net in 15 appearances since.
