Arsene Wenger: Danny Welbeck has "small chance" of playing in Liverpool clash

Arsene Wenger reveals that Danny Welbeck has a "small chance" of playing in Arsenal's Premier League clash against Liverpool due to a knee injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that striker Danny Welbeck has a "small chance" of playing in Saturday's Premier League clash against Liverpool at the Emirates.

The 24-year-old is a doubt for the encounter after he suffered a knee injury during England's 4-0 win over Lithuania last week.

Welbeck was ruled out of Tuesday's friendly against Italy due to the injury, and Wenger has not confirmed whether the striker will be part of the team on Saturday.

In this morning's press conference, Wenger said that Welbeck has a "small chance" of being involved, and added: "He's an important player who scores goals and contributes to the team. Technically he has matured."

Third-placed Arsenal are currently six points above Liverpool, who reside fifth in the Premier League.
