Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup third-round tie away at Leicester City.

Arsenal will be looking to continue their winning start to the 2020-21 campaign when they take on Leicester City in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners beat West Ham United 2-1 on Saturday through a late Eddie Nketiah goal to make it three victories from three in all competitions this term.

With a trip to Premier League champions Liverpool up next in the Premier League, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may use this cup tie as an opportunity to rotate his squad.

Kieran Tierney

Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: September 23 (vs. Leicester)

Kieran Tierney was withdrawn from Arsenal's lineup 10 minutes before the West Ham much due to muscular discomfort. However, Arteta later described it as a precautionary manner and the left-back is not expected to spend any time on the sidelines.


Shkodran Mustafi

Possible return date: Unknown

Shkodran Mustafi is now off crutches as he continues to recover from a thigh problem, but he is not expected back in training until mid-October.


Pablo Mari

Possible return date: September 28 (vs. Liverpool)

This match will come too soon for Pablo Mari, but the Spaniard is not too far away from returning to training following an ankle problem and could be back available by the end of this month.


Emile Smith Rowe

Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Highly-rated youngster Emile Smith Rowe is expected to challenge for a place among the first-team squad this season, but his hopes of doing so have been hampered by a shoulder injury. The midfielder is currently in a protective sling, but that is expected to be removed by the end of the week and a return to training should follow soon afterwards.


Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli is a long-term absentee for the Gunners after undergoing knee surgery which is expected to keep him sidelined until the final weeks of 2020.
