Reading boss Nigel Adkins admits that his side were beaten by the better team in their 4-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Reading boss Nigel Adkins has admitted that his side were outclassed by Arsenal in their 4-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Gervinho, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Mikel Arteta were enough to seal a comfortable victory for the Gunners, while Hal Robson-Kanu netted a consolation for the Royals.

Adkins told BBC Sport: "I thought Arsenal were very good, they've passed the ball very well. Unfortunately, we've made our own downfall on a couple of goals.

"We'll analyse the game, there's a lot we want to change but we can't do it all in one game. There's only one way we can go and that's up."

Reading are bottom of the Premier League, seven points adrift of safety with seven games to play.
