Liverpool legend John Barnes tips Arsenal to have the edge over Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool legend John Barnes has claimed that the stage is set for Arsenal to end their 12-year wait for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners sit level with Manchester City at the top of the table in a campaign which has seen champions Chelsea stutter, with Jose Mourinho's side 16th and 15 points off the pace.

Nevertheless, Barnes expects the Citizens to fall away at the business end, opening the door for Arsene Wenger's men to pick up their first title since 'the Invincibles' went all the way in 2004.

Asked by BT Sport who would win it, Barnes said: "Arsenal. I think this is Arsenal's best chance.

"I feel that Manchester City have a bit of a soft spot when March comes, and I think when the going gets tough they will drop silly points."

Arsenal travel away to West Bromwich Albion next Saturday following the international break this week.
