Benfica have reportedly been left unhappy with Arsenal over their failed attempt to sign striker Joel Campbell.
The Portuguese outfit were said to be close to landing the Costa Rica international on a season-long loan, only for Arsene Wenger to leave the deal hanging in the air as last night's 11pm transfer deadline grew closer.
The Mirror claims that Benfica received a last-minute call informing them that any deal was off, which left the club short of a striker.
Meanwhile, Campbell is also understood to be upset at the decision after failing to be given a chance at the Emirates Stadium following an impressive showing at the World Cup earlier this summer.
The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from Saprissa in 2011.
