Thierry Henry: 'Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger at fault for Alexis Sanchez injury'

Thierry Henry accuses Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger of over-playing Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean injured himself in the 1-1 draw at Norwich City.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has told manager Arsene Wenger that he only has himself to blame after Alexis Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Norwich City.

The Gunners' star player went off injured on the hour mark as Wenger's side missed the chance to move joint top of the Premier League table with Manchester City.

The Chilean played 90 minutes of Arsenal's 3-0 Champions League win at home to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, in which the hosts scored all three goals before the 70-minute mark.

"Yes, it was difficult to rest him today because you want to win, but I go back to the Zagreb game. With 20 minutes to go at 3-0, you can give him a little rest," he told Sky Sports News.

"Obviously I would like to think the 14 hours travelling, playing away with Chile for the World Cup in South America, doesn't help.

"Now we can all say the same thing. If he played today and he scored he would have said, 'I was right to play him', but he got an injury so we are obviously going to say he should have rested him."

Sanchez, who missed much of Arsenal's pre-season due to helping Chile win the Copa America, has started 18 games in all competitions so far.

Mesut Ozil fired the North Londoners ahead at Carrow Road, but Lewis Grabban equalised shortly before half time.
