Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has claimed that it would be a 'disaster' for the club if they failed to qualify for the Champions League this season.
The Gunners were overtaken in the Premier League table by Everton when the Toffees claimed a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger's men did manage to reach the final of the FA Cup following a penalty-shootout victory over Wigan Athletic, but Podolski is desperate for his teammates to improve upon their league form, with only five games of the season left to play.
"Every season is a pressure when you don't win anything and the newspapers speak about it, the fans gets nervous but we have the chance this year to win the FA Cup so maybe it helps the club, us and the boss," The Mirror quotes him as saying.
"But the other important thing is to get fourth place back because when you don't play in the Champions League, it's a disaster."
Arsenal return to league action when they face West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.
