Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that the uncertainty over his own future will not have an impact on the club's long-term planning.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that the uncertainty over his future will not affect the club's long-term plans.

Wenger's current deal at the Emirates expires at the end of this season, with reports suggesting that the Frenchman could bring an end to his 20-year stay at the club.

Wenger reiterated that he plans to consider his future at the end of the current campaign, but is confident that the club will not suffer as a result.

"I always said that I will judge where I stand in spring and make my decisions then. And the club is free as well. It's not because I am here a long time that I have any rights. We are both in the same boat," he told reporters.

"I don't think [it will affect long-term planning]. There are plenty of managers who arrived at the end of their contract. It happened to me before.

"I signed sometimes in March, April for longer contracts. So I don't think it's a problem. I have worked everywhere I have been until the last day of my contract with total commitment. That's why maybe I can go back everywhere I was, because people respect that."

Arsenal currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
