Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he is disappointed with Mark Clattenburg after the referee awarded Everton a corner in the build-up to their winning goal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has criticised Mark Clattenburg after the referee contributed to Everton's winning goal against the Gunners on Tuesday night.

With the game at 1-1 during the closing stages, Clattenburg gave the home side a corner, despite the ball appearing to come off Toffees forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin rather than Laurent Koscielny.

The decision led to Ashley Williams heading home a winning goal for the Merseyside giants, and after the game, Wenger admitted that he had been left disappointed with the official.

The Frenchman told reporters: "It was not a corner. You could see from our side it was no corner but I think we have to live with a wrong decision and it does not explain why we did not head the ball after.

"I think I am really disappointed because Clattenburg was in a very good position to see they headed the ball out and it's not the first time we are unlucky with this decision this season.

"Overall, I do not want to speak about the referee too much. It is not my problem."

The defeat for Arsenal leaves the club three points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
