Arsene Wenger praises "relentless" Arsenal in second half

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger praises his side's "relentless" performance in the second half of their 3-0 win against Watford.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed his delight after his team's "relentless" second-half performance in their 3-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey sealed the points for Arsenal and Wenger admitted that his side had to get used to Watford's physical style.

The Frenchman told Sky Sports News: "It was not easy as Watford were well organised and gave it all physically. I think we increased out commitments slowly, first 20 minutes we were not completely in the game but we slowly understood that we had to commit more.

"In the second half we were relentless, when we scored we continued to go and got a convincing win, it was a good performance.

"You could see that they chased a lot of the ball, they went for every ball but the first goal gave them a blow and the second definitely killed the game."

The 65-year-old also saved special praise for Sanchez, who scored his 10th goal in his last six games for club and country.

Wenger added: "[Sanchez] is so confident, he always goes forward and pushes the defenders back and I must say, he was absolutely outstanding again today."

The win for the Gunners sees them rise back above Manchester United and into second place in the Premier League table.
