Half-Time Report: Watford, Arsenal goalless at the break

Watford are holing their own against Arsenal as they head into half time at 0-0 in their Premier League game at Vicarage Road.

Watford have held Arsenal to 0-0 at half time after an entertaining first half at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.

Arsenal had a chance early on as Aaron Ramsey put the ball into the box towards Theo Walcott but the England international could not get a strong connection on his header, and it was stopped by Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Alexis Sanchez would have the next chance, with the Chilean cutting inside from the left wing to strike a stinging shot that Gomes was able to palm away to safety.

Troy Deeney had a shot moments later, the Watford captain hitting a strike from just outside the box but Petr Cech was level to the effort.

The Hornets striker had another opportunity midway through the first half, with Ikechi Anya finding Deeney 10 yards out but he took an extra touch and the ball was stolen from his feet.

Ramsey then had an excellent chance after Sanchez found the Welshman in space but the midfielder could not squeeze the ball home from close range.

Watford top scorer Odion Ighalo was then put through on goal but the Nigerian scuffed his shot and complained that he was fouled in the box by Laurent Koscielny.
