Arsene Wenger talks up Arsenal title chances

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims that his side is capable of being crowned Premier League champions this season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that the team is capable of winning the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners, who finished in fourth place last year, have strengthened their squad over the summer with the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers.

While admitting that the title race is likely to be as competitive as ever this term, Wenger believes that his side has a chance of being crowned champions.

"I expect a lot but I can talk and talk - at the end it's the performance on the pitch that will show how much chance we have to win the Premier League," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"We have more confidence than at the beginning of last season. Our opponents have also strengthened. It's everybody's ambition to win the league - but only one will win it."

Wenger signed a new three-year contract with Arsenal at the end of last season.
