How Arsenal could line up against West Ham United

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up against West Ham United for their opening Premier League home match of the campaign.

Arsenal take on London rivals West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday in their opening home Premier League game of the campaign.

The Gunners eased to a 3-0 away win at Fulham last time out, two weeks on from overcoming Liverpool on penalties in the Community Shield.

After winning six of their last seven competitive games stretching into last season, Mikel Arteta's men will enter this match as strong favourites.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for the visit of West Ham, who lost 2-0 to Newcastle United in their first match back.

Possible ARSXI vs. WHU

Out: David Luiz (neck), Shkodran Mustafi (thigh), Gabriel Martinelli (knee), Pablo Mari (ankle), Calum Chambers (knee), Emile Smith Rowe (shoulder)
Doubtful: Granit Xhaka (ankle), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (calf)

Arsenal looked impressive against Fulham last weekend and have had a full week's rest, so Arteta is unlikely to make many - if any - changes to his starting lineup.

Granit Xhaka picked up a knock against the Cottagers and may have to make way here, however, possibly meaning a return to the XI for Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos.

The likes of Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah will be pushing for inclusion, but it is tough to see which of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette or Willian would make way.

Willian created more chances than any other Arsenal player in the win against Fulham, becoming the first player to assist two goals on his league debut for the club since Ray Parlour against Liverpool in August 1992.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has scored eight goals in his last six appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, including a goal in each of his last four outings.
