Manchester City transfer roundup: Gabriel Jesus latest and Bernardo Silva price tag

Sports Mole rounds up the latest Manchester City transfer news, including updates on the futures of Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and James McAtee.

Manchester City have already made a statement signing in this summer's transfer window with the arrival of striker Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Further additions could be made with Pep Guardiola believed to be eyeing a new centre-midfielder and left-back, but there could also be a number of high-profile players heading for the exit door.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news regarding the Premier League champions, including updates on the futures of Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and James McAtee.

Barcelona target Bernardo Silva valued in excess of £80m

Manchester City will reportedly demand a fee in excess of £80m if they are to consider selling playmaker Bernardo Silva this summer.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium, with Barcelona believed to be the frontrunners to secure his signature.

However, the Daily Mirror claims that the Citizens are keen to keep hold of Silva and hope the Catalan giants will cool their interest in the Portugal international now that they have discovered his valuation.

The report adds that City are looking to tie Silva down to a new contract even though his current deal at the Etihad is due to expire in June 2025.

Man City hoping to extend Gabriel Jesus's contract

Gabriel Jesus has been heavily linked with a summer exit, but 90min claims that the Citizens are hoping to tie the forward down to a new contract.

An offer to extend his current deal, which expires in June 2023, has been made to the 25-year-old and his representatives, although talks between both parties are yet to bear fruit.

Jesus is still considering his options, following the arrivals of Haaland and Julian Alvarez at the Etihad, with Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all keen to recruit the Brazilian.

Serie A duo AC Milan and Juventus are the latest clubs to register their interest, with Jesus believed to be eyeing a move to a club competing in the Champions League, which would seemingly hinder Mikel Arteta's hopes of luring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Jesus – who recorded 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 games last season – is set to make a decision over his future in the coming weeks now that his time on international duty has come to an end.

Academy graduate James McAtee is a target for Championship outfit Huddersfield Town, who are set to hold talks with the midfielder over a proposed loan move, according to The Sun.

McAtee is highly regarded by the Citizens but unlike Phil Foden and Cole Palmer, the 19-year-old may be allowed to leave on a temporary basis for a season of regular senior football.

Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan is believed to be keen to speak to McAtee on Monday night after the England Under-21s face Slovenia at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Salford-born midfielder, who has also been linked with Brighton & Hove Albion and Swansea City, was named the Premier League 2 Player of the Season after a standout 2021-22 campaign with Man City's Under-23s side, contributing to 24 goals in just 22 league appearances.
