Report: Arsenal agree fee for £21m-rated Portuguese star William Carvalho

Arsenal reportedly move ahead of Man United in the race to sign the highly-rated William Carvalho after agreeing a £21m fee with Sporting Lisbon.

Arsenal have agreed a £21m transfer fee with Sporting Lisbon to sign highly-rated midfielder William Carvalho this summer, according to reports.

The Portugal international, 23, has long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with Manchester United and Liverpool among those also reportedly interested.

Despite courting interest from a host of clubs on the continent, Carvalho is thought to be keen on a Premier League move and he will seal a switch to North London, according to The Telegraph.

Carvalho, who has made 34 Sporting appearances this season, is contracted to the Portuguese outfit until 2017.
